  1. It happened on Interstate 8 in the Mission Valley area. A CHP officer investigating a traffic collision was shot at the scene by a pedestrian. A suspect was taken into custody. To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. (NBC San Diego)
  2. The San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to provide shelter to asylum seekers arriving at the border seeking humanitarian protection. "San Diego County has established itself as a welcoming community for families seeking asylum," Board Chairman Nathan Fletcher said. "Several years ago, we demonstrated our ability to work with local partners, stand-up a shelter, provide services and help families make connections to their sponsors; and it is important we are prepared to provide humane support for families coming to San Diego."
