Here are four of the top stories in San Diego today:

  1. City Attorney Mara Elliott will no longer use Twitter and her last comment on the app stated: "Twitter is moving in a troubling direction — one that promotes hatred, violence, bullying, and false information. It is not a forum where users can feel respected or safe. We deserve better. For that reason, my office will no longer communicate using Twitter." Elliott suggested that the public check for updates on Instagram, as well as on the city’s website. (ABC 10 News San Diego KGTV)
  2. The Claude "Bud" Lewis Carlsbad Desalination Plant has produced more than 50 million gallons of water a day. It's the largest, most technologically advanced, energy-efficient desalination plant in the nation. “Since coming online in 2015, the Carlsbad Desalination Plant has met nearly 10 percent of the region’s water demand, and it will be a core water resource for decades to come,” said Mel Katz, board chair for the San Diego County Water Authority. (San Diego Metropolitan)
  3. It’s the 14th annual San Diego Beer Week, and it includes 10 days of celebration at locations in the San Diego area. Join the fun beginning Nov. 4 and taste the best in beers, along with some delectable food pairings. Read on for information on the different venues, hours, prices and events: (San Diego Magazine)
