Crews Halt Highway Fire Near Route 79
Firefighters will remain on the scene of the slow-moving brush fire Thursday afternoon.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Firefighters stopped the forward progress of a brush fire burning near Route 79 in the Sunshine Summit area of eastern San Diego County Thursday afternoon.
The slow-moving brush fire, dubbed the Highway Fire, scorched about three acres near Oak Grove, according to CalFire San Diego.
No one was injured battling the blaze, and no buildings were damaged.

Firefighters will remain at he scene Thursday to continue building containment lines and dousing hot spots.
