Here are three of the top stories in San Diego today:

  1. It’s a parade of beautifully decorated boats reflecting on the water. This year’s theme is ‘FantaSEA on the Bay.” The Parade of Lights will amaze the crowds with 80 boats that will sail from Shelter Island to Harbor Island, through the Embarcadero and Seaport Village, to the Pier at Cesar Chavez Park, ending at the Ferry Landing in Coronado. If you plan to attend, consider taking the trolley and avoid the traffic and parking issues. (There San Diego)
  2. Did you know that San Diego has 16 sister cities? Probably not, but it’s true. This past week the House of Pacific Relations International Cottages in Balboa Park was the site of San Diego Sister Cities 65 Year Celebration! There was music, dance, and food, along with information about the history of various Sister Cities. Sister Cities join for student and cultural exchanges to promote understanding between nations. Learn more at Sandisca. (Cool San Diego Sights!)
  3. During this giving season, you can help our furry friends by giving to a special holiday fundraiser. San Diego County Credit Union (SDCCU) is collecting funds for ‘Presents for Paws,’ to help shelters and rescues here in San Diego. Monetary donations can be made at your local SDCCU branch, or online this year at sdccu.com/paws. (San Diego Metropolitan)
