Domestic Dispute Leads To Colina Del Sol-Area SWAT Standoff

A 911 caller reported the altercation, according to the San Diego Police Department.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A report of a domestic dispute involving a man armed with a gun at a Colina Del Sol-area apartment complex Monday prompted a neighborhood shelter-in-place order and a three-hour standoff that ended with a suspect in custody.

A 911 caller reported the altercation in the 4300 block of 54th Street shortly before 6:30 a.m., according to the San Diego Police Department.

After officers were dispatched to the neighborhood just south of El Cajon Boulevard, the suspect went onto the roof of the apartment complex, SDPD Officer Sarah Foster said. He then ignored repeated orders to surrender, prompting police to send in a SWAT team.
