  1. After a 10-month investigation, authorities arrested 70 people allegedly involved in a drug- trafficking ring operating out of Clairemont. Oxycontin, fentanyl and heroin, as well as firearms and 24 stolen cars were recovered in the raid. Officials report that the suspects have white supremacist ties and that more suspects will be taken into custody. To date, 47 defendants were charged with felony crimes. (FOX 5 San Diego)
  2. The recent California mass shootings traumatized many in our community. One attack happened during a Lunar New Year celebration. The tragedies resulted in feelings of fear, sadness and trauma among Asians and Pacific Islanders. But people need not suffer alone. Mental health therapists urge those in need to call the new National Suicide and Crisis lifeline number: 988 for help. (NBC San Diego)
  3. Want a bachelor’s degree in cyber defense or health information management or public safety management? San Diego City College plans to offer four-year degrees in these areas. Applications will be accepted next fall through winter. The program is expected to help diversify the workforce by allowing more women, veterans and people of color to qualify for good jobs.
