Empty The Shelters: Promotion Aims To Make Space For Pets Displaced By LA-Area Wildfires
San Diego Humane Society wants to find loving homes for pets and provide critical support to shelters in fire-ravaged areas.
SAN DIEGO, CA — San Diego Humane Society has slashed adoption fees in an effort to make space for pets displaced by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles County.
The organization is offering $25 pet adoption fees for adult cats and dogs from Jan. 15 through Jan. 26, thanks to a sponsorship by the Bissell Pet Foundation. The "Empty the Shelters" promotion aims to find loving homes for as many pets as possible so San Diego Humane Society can provide critical support to shelters in fire-ravaged areas.
"This promotion comes at a vital time as shelters across Los Angeles are seeing an influx of injured, stray and owner-surrendered animals due to the Palisades and Eaton Fires," the organization said in a statement. "San Diego Humane Society is reaching out to assist these affected shelters but needs to create space in its own facilities to make this lifesaving effort possible."
