Escaped Inmate From San Diego Reentry Program Captured At Border
Freddy Rojas was apprehended at the San Diego-Tijuana border, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Authorities captured an inmate who walked away from a Male Community Reentry Program over the weekend in San Diego County.
Freddy Rojas was apprehended at 8:45 p.m. Sunday at the San Diego-Tijuana border, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. He walked away from the San Diego reentry program Saturday.
Rojas was serving a seven-year sentence for possession of a controlled substance and sale as a second striker with an enhancement for having a firearm, according to the CDCR. He was booked Sunday at Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility without incident.

Since 1977, 99% of all people who have left an adult institution, camp or community-based program without permission have been apprehended, according to the CDCR.
