Flannery retired from coaching in 2014 after the Giants won their third World Series championship in five years.
Flannery cites Kentucky hillsides and his Celtic roots among his primary musical influences.
His bluegrass ballads typically describe his travels and the characters he's met along the way.
"I'm a baseball man who's always played music," Flannery told ESPN in a 2010 interview.
Flannery is seen in this YouTube video performing "Hillbilly Rain" in a 2014 Brian Stow benefit at Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley.
Stow is the Giants fan who suffered serious injuries during a 2011 attack at Dodgers Stadium.
Flannery was drafted by the San Diego Padres and played 11 seasons in the majors with the team from 1979 to 1989.
"Tim is like a two-sport star with his music and baseball… And he can do it well," country music star Garth Brooks said of Flannery according to the band's official website.
