SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA — We've rounded up the stories you may have missed over the weekend to prepare you for the week ahead.

But before we jump into Southern California's top stories, residents should expect a stronger storm system later this week, according to the National Weather Service.

"Showers will mainly linger over the mountains this morning, otherwise skies will clear through the day," NWS Los Angeles forecasters wrote Monday. "A stronger storm system will affect the area Tuesday night through Thursday and bring periods of moderate rain, mountain snow, and gusty winds to the region. Another storm is forecast to move over the region early next week."

In other news, an earthquake rattled the Los Angeles area; explosive materials were found in a recreational vehicle; officials arrested a man in connection with the Pala and Lilac wildfires; and a nude man was accused of punching a toddler and sexually assaulting a woman.
