'Extremely​' Decomposed Body Found Floating In Lower Otay Reservoir

SAN DIEGO, CA — Police are investigating a suspicious death after the body of a man was found floating in Lower Otay Reservoir.

A fisherman spotted the partially submerged body at 9:41 a.m. Sunday in the artificial lake, according to the San Diego Police Department. Divers with the city of San Diego's diving team recovered the body and brought it to land.

"The male's body was extremely decomposed, and at this point, age, race, or any other identifying information remain unclear," police Lt. Jon Dungan said.

Homicide detectives were investigating the circumstances of the death. The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the exact cause of death pending further examination.
