- It's autumn, but the temperature feels more like summer. There is a high-pressure canopy over San Diego, delivering hot weather through the middle of the week. The most torrid weather will prevail in the desert area with temperatures in the upper 90s - 110 degrees. Temperatures along the coast will rise to the mid-80s, with temperatures reaching 100 degrees in the inland valleys. Avoid heat-related illness by staying hydrated with non-alcoholic beverages and keeping out of the sun. Find a 'cool location' in San Diego. - Though home prices have dropped, many San Diegan’s are stalled by high interest rates. With 6 percent interest rates on home mortgages, sales have been stagnant. The average home price has dropped from $970K to $910K. Still, many San Diegan’s find home prices unaffordable. Those who can afford to buy, should. While current mortgages may be exchanged for lower rate mortgages over time, the price of the house is fixed and cannot be changed. The current high interest rates are expected to remain for some time. To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. (NBC San Diego)
- It’s a beloved tradition. Several breweries in San Diego joined together to celebrate ‘Capital of Craft’ IPA. Beer makers from eight local breweries, including Pizza Port, Battle Mage Brewing, Culver Beer, Fall Brewing, Mcilhenny Brewing, Mujeres Brew House, My Yard Live, and TapRoom Beer joined together to create the brew. Taking three and a half weeks to ferment, the beer is finally ready for packaging. The beer will be featured at San Diego Beer Week, scheduled for Nov. 4-13. - Top tech innovators were recognized at the Snapdragon Stadium in Mission Valley. Credited as the ‘unsung heroes of business,’ the tech ‘IT’ leaders in the field of business, education, government, and nonprofit organizations received awards for their work. Cox Business was the presenting sponsor. Highest awards were given to individuals from the San Diego Padres, and ResMed. Eleven other category honorees were acknowledged as well. - The good news is that the number of reported cases of COVID-19 continues to decrease. For this reason, San Diego County announced Friday that it will begin closing its COVID Monoclonal Antibody Treatment Centers around the county. "The demand for monoclonal antibody treatment has been steadily decreasing in recent months as COVID-19 treatments, including Paxlovid, have become readily available at medical providers' offices and other locations," said Dr. Wilma J. Wooten, county public health officer. "County Public Health will continue to monitor the pandemic to ensure the community's treatment needs are met." Access to monoclonal antibodies for prevention and treatment will still be available at Family Health Centers of San Diego. To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. (Patch)
