Felon Found With Loaded Gun, Drugs During North County Traffic Stop: Sheriff's Office

FALLBROOK, CA — A convicted felon was found with drugs and a loaded gun during a traffic stop in northern San Diego County, authorities said.

Deputies stopped a car for a traffic violation around 2 p.m. Tuesday in the 1100 block of South Vine Street in Fallbrook, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office. As soon as the car came to a stop, two passengers got out and ran down an alley.

One deputy stayed with the driver while his partner pursued the two passengers through a busy parking lot before crossing Main Street, Lt. Darrell McNeal said.

"The deputy gave up the foot pursuit after the two men began running in different directions, one of whom nearly got hit by a car," McNeal said. "The men have yet to be found."

The driver, Michael Robledo, 44, was in possession of drugs, McNeal said. A loaded handgun was found in the car's passenger compartment. Drug paraphernalia and open containers of alcohol were also found in the car.
