Here are three of the top stories today in San Diego:
- It’s the biggest fundraising day of the year — It’s Giving Tuesday. Many nonprofits will receive donations to help them with their missions. At Father Joe’s Villages the mission is to help people experiencing homelessness here in San Diego. Anonymous donors have pledged to match donations to Father Joe's dollar for dollar. Father Joe’s Villages has a goal of raising $500,000 this year. Join in and help the nonprofit of your choice on Giving Tuesday. (Times of San Diego)
- It’s the big question each year — what gifts to buy the kids for the holidays. Of course, you want a toy that isn’t too loud, that will be fun for the child, and that will occupy a child's for more than five minutes. Now, a group of San Diego Moms has come to the rescue. Check out their list of great toys that they recommend from their experience. (Times of San Diego)
- Looking for a fun event for family and friends? Come together to see the Holiday Parade of Lights here in San Diego. You can view the event from shore or you can view it from a yacht out in harbor. On Sundays, beginning Dec. 11 – Dec. 18, Flagship Cruises will be out on the bay offering a great view of the beautifully decorated boats. Wherever you choose to view the lights, make it a great evening with family and friends. (KPBS)
