- Eleven students from Perkins K-8 school in Barrio Logan met with Harbor Police for a special day. It began with a breakfast at SeaWorld, followed by a dolphin encounter show. Next, they learned about the history of Shop with a Cop and met with officers who attended the event when they were students. The group then rode in a police caravan to a fun shopping spree at Target. From there, the kids went to Cesar Chavez Park in Barrio Logan for some recreational fun. The day wrapped up with a barbecue hosted by Harbor police for the students and their parents. (The Log Newspaper)
- Looking to recycle your live Christmas tree? Remember to remove decorations, tinsel, ornaments, lights and tree stands. If your tree is larger than 6 feet tall, cut it in half. You can put it curbside on your regular collection day, or you can bring it to one of the many drop-off locations around town.
- Need to exchange or return Christmas gifts? First, check the deadline date for returns. Deadlines can vary, so don’t assume you can return your item anytime during the month of January. When returning in person, bring your receipt, order number, email and California identification. While you can return gifts online, you may also be able to return them in person at the store instead, skipping the return shipping charges. (NBC 7 News)
- Planned your New Year’s Eve celebration yet? Find a great venue to ring in the new year, choose a designated driver or book a hotel for an overnight stay. On New Year's Day, enjoy a brunch cruise on San Diego Bay. Check out a list of options and create a New Year’s tradition for your friends and family.
