Hawthorne Country Store Celebrates Flocktoberfest At San Diego Area Stores
The family-friendly event will take place Saturday at locations in Fallbrook, Escondido and Santee.
SAN DIEGO, CA — Folks across San Diego County are invited to flock to Hawthorne Country Store Saturday for its 22nd annual Flocktoberfest.
During Flocktoberfest, community members can learn about the homesteading lifestyle through backyard chickens. The family-friendly "chicken-ed" event will take place at all three of the family-owned and -operated locations in Escondido, Fallbrook and Santee.
Hawthorne Country Store aims to maintain, teach and support homesteading skills. The event allows attendees to meet the store's team of "flockers," learn about chicken care and pick out new chicks for the family.

Free educational videos are available on the company's YouTube channel, including a "Chick 101" video.
Chicks and products will be available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at all three stores.
