Horton Plaza Could Get A New Owner
The once-popular shopping destination is in escrow, according to a report.

SAN DIEGO, CA -- A once-popular shopping destination in San Diego could get a new owner in the coming weeks. Horton Plaza, the downtown mall, is in escrow, 10News reported.
"Multiple sources confirmed to 10News that Stockdale Capital Partners is now in escrow to buy the mall," the news station reported.
"The mall's current owner, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, which acquired the five-level mall in December, said it doesn't comment on market speculation or rumors," 10News said.

Both companies are not commenting on the reports, however, it's been rumored that Westfield was shopping for a new owner.
The rumors come as the once-bustling mall practically becomes a ghost town with less foot traction and more stores closing.

Just recently, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported grocer Jimbo's filed a lawsuit against Westfield after allegedly losing millions of dollars in sales.
"The complaint, filed on May 22 with San Diego’s Superior Court, alleges Horton Plaza has failed in its contractual obligation to operate the mall as a 'first-class regional shopping center,' thus causing the grocer to miss out on foot traffic and spend extra on increased security," the Union-Tribune reported.
