Hotel Circle Fire Halloween Morning Draws Massive Firefighter Response
San Diego Firefighters arrived to battle the blaze that ignited just before 12:30 a.m.

SAN DIEGO, CA — The San Diego Fire and Rescue Department raced to the scene of a brush fire that broke out early on Halloween morning.
Firefighters were called shortly before 12:30 a.m. to a vegetation fire that ignited at 1800 Hotel Circle North, near the San Diego Riverbed and Riverwalk Golf Club.
Upon arrival, they worked to put out a small vegetation fire burning parallel to Interstate 8 alongside the roadway at 1800 Hotel Circle North, in the Mission Valley West neighborhood of San Diego, according to the department.

A total of 39 resources arrived to quell the flames, including two brush rigs, two type 1 helicopters and four engines. They remained at the scene for approximately four hours to conduct mop-up operations.
It was not immediately clear how many acres burned in the incident. There were no injuries as a result of the blaze, and the Red Cross was not called to the scene.
