Housekeeper Arrested In $50K Theft From Elderly Residents At South Bay Retirement Facility
Tania Soliven, 51, was arrested after she was linked her to burglaries and grand thefts at Bonita Villa Senior Living, officials said.

BONITA, CA — A housekeeper was accused of stealing $50,000 worth of valuables from elderly residents at a retirement home in San Diego's South Bay, authorities said Monday.
Tania Soliven, 51, was arrested after she was linked her to multiple burglaries and grand thefts at Bonita Villa Senior Living at 3434 Bonita Road in Chula Vista, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office. In total, $50,000 worth of items, including jewelry and collectible coins, were stolen from five elderly residents on the third floor of the retirement facility, where she was assigned to work.
Detectives served a search warrant Oct. 2 at Soliven's apartment in the 4200 block of Bonita Road in Bonita. Detectives found a gun safe on the property that had five handguns, one rifle, ammunition, meth and a meth pipe, according to the sheriff's office. One handgun and the rifle were unregistered. Detectives also seized hundreds of pieces of suspected stolen jewelry, collector coins, several computers and cellphones.

Soliven was booked into Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility on suspicion of charges related to possession of ammunition and narcotics.
Residents of Bonita Villa Senior Living by Pacifica and family members of residents that believe they might have been a victim of theft were encouraged to contact the Imperial Beach Sheriff's Substation at 619-498-2400.
