Lockdown Lifted At East County School After 'Unfounded' Threat
Mount Miguel High School was placed on lockdown after deputies received a report of a possible discharge of a gun heard near the campus.

SPRING VALLEY, CA — A lockdown was lifted Thursday at an East County school after a threat was deemed unfounded, authorities said.
Mount Miguel High School was placed on lockdown after deputies received a report of a possible discharge of a firearm heard near the campus in the 8000 block of Blossom Lane in Spring Valley, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies conducted a walkthrough of all buildings and areas of the school campus but found no weapon or evidence of a firearm being discharged, according to the sheriff's office. The lockdown was lifted a short time later.

"At this time, deputies are investigating the incident as a swatting call," the sheriff's office said. "There are no additional threats to the school or community."
