LA MESA, CA — A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after colliding with another vehicle in La Mesa, authorities said Thursday.

The collision happened around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday when a man behind the wheel of black Acura sedan struck a silver Chevrolet sedan at the intersection of Massachusetts and University avenues, according to the La Mesa Police Department.

The driver of the Chevrolet sustained minor injuries, while the DUI suspect was temporarily released to a hospital for treatment, a public information officer with the department told City News Service.
