Man Killed In Solo-Vehicle Crash In San Diego's North County

The driver crashed into a concrete barrier near an intersection, authorities said.

POWAY, CA — A driver was killed over the weekend when he crashed into a concrete barrier near an intersection in northern San Diego County, authorities said.

Deputies responded to the single-vehicle crash shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday at Pomerado Road and Kaitz Street in Poway, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

The 51-year-old man was taken to a hospital, where he died, Lt. Colin Hebeler said. His name was withheld pending family notification.

The collision remained under investigation. It was unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
