Meet A Giraffe For Free At ​Orfila Vineyards And Winery

ESCONDIDO, CA — A San Diego area winery is inviting community members to an event showcasing local wines and a special appearance by a live giraffe.

Groovin' with a Giraffe is slated Saturday at Orfila Vineyards and Winery in Escondido. A giraffe from Benay's Bird and Animal Rentals will be housed in a pen on Orfila's lawn by the winery's pavilion, offering attendees a chance to see the animal up close.

The event is free and open to all ages, with additional activities scheduled throughout the day including DJ sets, a mobile petting zoo, and Orfila wines and food.

"It's a truly one-of-a-kind afternoon at the vineyard and perfect for families, animal lovers and weekend explorers," a news release said.

Groovin' with a Giraffe will take place from 2-4 p.m. Saturday. Orfila Vineyards and Winery is located at 13455 San Pasqual Road in Escondido. For the safety and comfort of both the giraffe and guests, petting and feeding will not be permitted, according to the winery.
