"Thanks to their combined efforts, Miss Piggy was carefully and compassionately moved into our care," San Diego Humane Society spokesperson Nina Thompson said.

Miss Piggy was scheduled to have a full veterinary exam Wednesday. For now, she is under "emergency boarding" status while the organization works to determine if any next of kin would like to take her in, Thompson said. If no family members come forward, San Diego Humane Society will begin the search for an adoptive home.
