Missing East County Woman Found Dead

Michelle Elaine Moden, 53, had last been seen on Easter leaving her home in unincorporated El Cajon, officials said.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A woman who went missing on Easter was found dead Sunday in eastern San Diego County, authorities said.

The body of Michelle Elaine Moden, 53, was found in an unincorporated area of the county, according to the California Highway Patrol. Her vehicle was discovered along Sequan Truck Trail in Alpine.

Moden had last been seen April 20 leaving her home located in the 6100 block of Dehesa Road in unincorporated El Cajon, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

"Following the discovery, CHP detectives from the Border Division Major Crimes Unit initiated a full investigation to determine the cause and circumstances of the incident," CHP officials said in a news release.

Foul play was not suspected, according to the CHP. No other information was immediately available.
