Missing Woman Rescued From Storm Drain In Poway
Yafang Zhou, 59, was pulled from a drain in the area of 14600 Beeler Canyon Road, according to the San Diego Police Department.
SAN DIEGO, CA — Authorities rescued a missing woman from a storm drain Monday in Poway.
Yafang Zhou, 59, was pulled from a drain in the area of 14600 Beeler Canyon Road, according to the San Diego Police Department.
Zhou was reported missing on Thursday to the department. She had last been seen around midnight on March 25 in the 1000 block of Union St. in San Diego.

"Based on the circumstances surrounding her disappearance the Missing Person's Unit, which is within the San Diego Police Department's Homicide Unit, immediately began investigating her last known whereabouts and attempting to locate Yafang," a news release from the department said.
Detective were searching for Zhou in the area Monday when they heard a woman's voice coming from the area of a maintenance hole cover, police said. They called for additional units and assistance from fire and paramedics crews.

The San Diego County Urban Search and Rescue Team arrived and removed the woman, who was identified as Zhou, police said. She was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
"Out of respect for Yafang and her family, no additional details will be released at this time," police said.
