Motorcyclist Killed In Collision In Oceanside

Police said the driver of the truck remained at scene and was cooperative.

OCEANSIDE, CA — A 27-year-old man driving a motorcycle was killed in an accident involving another vehicle in Oceanside Wednesday, authorities said.

The accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Douglas Drive and North River Road, according to the Oceanside Police Department.

A 33-year-old Oceanside man behind the wheel of a silver Ford F-150 made a left turn into an Am-Pm gas station, whereupon a motorcyclist driving a black Kawasaki sport bike traveling southbound on Douglas Drive struck the passenger side of the truck, the department reported.

The rider of the motorcycle was ejected from his bike and suffered life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Tri-City Medical Center, where he died shortly afterward, officials said.

Police said the driver of the truck remained at scene and was cooperative.

"Speed of the motorcycle will be a factor in this collision, however alcohol/drug influence was determined NOT to be a factor for the driver of the F-150," the department said.

The name of the motorcyclist was not immediately available.
