- Several demonstrations for and against took place over the weekend regarding the proposed housing units to be built in University City. More than 30,000 new units are planned for the area. Opposition against the influx of people, the additional traffic, and the lack of infrastructure has brought some out to protest. Others say that building high density units near transit is the best way for us to meet our housing and climate action plan. (ABC 10 News San Diego KGTV)
- Wondering how to get on the waiting list for affordable housing? Right now, there are a total of 13 lists out there, and you will need to check out which one is right for your situation. There are housing vouchers for members of the military, the elderly, the disabled, those with two or more with at least one dependent, those about to become homeless, etc. Find the right list(s) for you here.
