Nearly 200 Small Pets At San Diego Humane Society Seek Forever Homes

"Small pets make wonderful companions — and right now, we have so many who need loving homes."

SAN DIEGO, CA — San Diego Humane Society is bursting with small pets and is nearly out of space for its smallest residents, the nonprofit announced.

San Diego Humane Society encouraged the public Thursday to consider adopting a tiny critter or two. The organization currently has 121 guinea pigs, 52 rabbits and 12 rodents — hamsters, mice and rats — in its care.

For most small pets, adopting in pairs is highly recommended due to their social nature and need for companionship, according to San Diego Humane Society.
