  1. Good news for renters! If they are current on their rent payments, and abide by terms of their leases, renters cannot be evicted during the new eviction moratorium. The moratorium is temporary and will expire Sept. 30, or 60 days after the pandemic state of emergency ends, whichever comes first. “San Diego cannot afford to have one more person enter into homelessness, and this is a way to prevent that,” said San Diego City Council President Sean Elo-Rivera. 2. It happened twice on Sunday. A train collision occurred on Sunday in the Sorrento Valley area. Another occurred on Sunday in the Encinitas area. Both involved pedestrians who were pronounced dead at the scenes. Both incidents are being investigated. If you have information, call the sheriff’s department non-emergency line at 858-565-5200. 3. While San Diego is well-known for its craft beer industry, it is also becoming known for its wineries. Wednesday is National Wine Day, and San Diego, North County, and East County are pouring vino. There are at least 25 local wineries reviewed on Yelp. Find out which are the top five, based on Yelp reviews. To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. (Times of San Diego)
