Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Car In San Diego's South Bay
The 77-year-old pedestrian died at the scene, police said.
CHULA VISTA, CA — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a car Wednesday in San Diego's South Bay, authorities said.
The 77-year-old man was in the roadway in the 600 block of L Street in Chula Vista when the eastbound 2014 Toyota Corolla struck him around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Chula Vista police Department.
The pedestrian died at the scene, Officer Carson Tabor said. His name was withheld pending family notification.

The cause of the collision has not yet been determined. Police said alcohol and drugs were not believed to be factors in the crash.
Anyone who witnessed the collision was asked to contact the department's Traffic Bureau at 619-476-5321.
