Pedestrian Seriously Hurt by Vehicle in San Diego
Police said the victim suffered serious head trauma and was not expected to survive her injuries.
SAN DIEGO, CA — A 54-year-old pedestrian was taken to a hospital in critical condition Thursday after she was struck by a vehicle in San Diego.
The accident occurred at around 3:15 a.m. Thursday, when a 2011 Toyota Prius driven by a 69-year old man struck the pedestrian in the 4800 block of El Cajon Boulevard in the neighborhood of Talmadge, according to the San Diego Police Department.
Police said the victim suffered serious head trauma and was taken by ambulance to a hospital. She was not expected to survive her injuries, police reported.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said. Alcohol was determined not to be a factor in the collision, according to the department.
It was unclear if the pedestrian was walking in a marked crosswalk at the time of the accident.
