CHULA VISTA, CA — A 66-year-old man was seriously injured when he was struck while walking between an intersection in Chula Vista, authorities reported Tuesday.

Officers responded around 8:50 p.m. Monday to reports of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision near the 100 block of Fourth Avenue, according to the Chula Vista Police Department.

Police said a 58-year-old woman behind the wheel of a white northbound Scion TC collided with the pedestrian as he was walking from the west towards the east curbline between two "controlled intersections" in the area.

The driver of the Scion remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation, the department stated.

The cause of the collision has not yet been determined, but alcohol or drugs were not believed to be a factor, according to police.
