Pet Adoption Fees Waived In August At San Diego County Animal Shelters

All animals adopted from county shelters will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and include a one-year license for dogs.

SAN DIEGO, CA — The San Diego County Department of Animal Services will waive pet adoption fees in August as part of Clear the Shelters, a month-long nationwide initiative to find homes for animals in shelters.

The Clear the Shelters campaign has helped more than 1 million pets across the country find permanent homes since 2015.

The county's Department of Animal Services has participated in the campaign since 2016. With shelters near capacity, this year's goal is to find a home for every adoptable animal in the department's care.
