  1. If you buy your prescription drugs at Ralphs, Vons, or Albertsons, you may want to get your refills today. San Diego pharmacists at these stores have voted to strike, and it could happen as early as Monday, June 25. "Most people don't know that COVID has added a huge workload on the pharmacists, and this issue of safety and staffing has come up, and yet the companies have failed to recognize and respond to this," said UFWC Local 135 President, Todd Walters. The union says they want to avoid a strike, but only if the company agrees to resolve staffing issues. To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. (CBS News 8)
  2. The Board of Port Commissioners reviewed a proposal for a project that would give an open feel along the waterfront and increase coastal access, recreational activities, and views of San Diego Bay. "We are keeping the best of what the waterfront currently offers while adding experiences that reflect community wants and needs and creating a more open feel along the waterfront," said Yehudi Gaffen, CEO of 1HWY1, the winner of a 2016 competitive bidding process for the project. Final adjustments will be made to the proposal and the project’s financial feasibility report will be provided to the Port. The Board will move the project to the California Environmental Quality Act review process for their approval. To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. (Times of San Diego)
  3. A San Diego Police K-9 named Carson was viciously attacked by a man later apprehended by police. "He retrieved a screwdriver from his pocket and began stabbing the K-9 in the head,” said Lt. Casey Gini, SDPD. Carson was immediately taken to a vet for his injuries. "He did receive the two stab wounds on the top of his head, and then he had a third stab on the roof of his mouth,” said Officer Jonathan Wiese, K-9 handler. Officer Wiese says no other officers were injured thanks to Carson's good work. To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. (ABC 10 News San Diego KGTV)
