Police Investigate 'Suspicious' Death In San Diego

An unresponsive man was found on the sidewalk in the East Village neighborhood.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Authorities were investigating a suspicious death in San Diego's East Village.

Officers responded to reports of an unresponsive man lying on the sidewalk around 2:30 p.m. Sunday at 800 13th St., according to the San Diego Police Department.

Police said the man had severe injuries. Paramedics provided aid, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene to investigate due to the "suspicious nature" of the man's death, according to the department. Investigators believe the man fell from an apartment window, although it was still early in the investigation.

The man has not been identified.
