  1. There are 8,000 restaurants in San Diego, but some restaurants have health safety violations. The county’s Department of Environmental Health and Quality’s Food and Housing Division inspectors have found vermin, improper washing facilities, ventilation and lighting issues, as well as workers without food service safety training. Check out the violations map and chart to see if your favorite restaurants are on the list. (inewsource)
  2. Green bins and composting buckets have been distributed in the Grant Hill neighborhood, but residents are somewhat confused about the new rules concerning green waste and composting. State law mandates that food and organic waste must be separated from regular trash and recycling so that it can be turned into compost. The goal is to reduce the amount of methane gas leaking from landfills, and to fight climate change. (Voice of San Diego)
  3. Earlier this week, the Colgate-Palmolive Company issued a recall of its Fabuloso cleaning products due to bacterial contamination. The affected products, which were produced from Dec. 14, 2022 – January 23, 2023, contain a species of bacteria commonly found in soil and water. According to the company, the problem has since been corrected. For a full list of products recalled, visit Fabuloso Recall. (ABC News)
