Here are three of the top stories in San Diego today:
- The San Diego Zoo🦊Safari Park has proudly welcomed a new baby Southern white rhino. "We are so pleased Livia and her calf are doing so well," said Jonnie Capiro, the Safari Park's lead wildlife care specialist. "Seeing this energetic little rhino running around, wallowing in the mud, and just being generally curious, is very rewarding," Capiro said. For now, new mom, Livia, and the new baby will continue to bond. After this initial period, the calf will be introduced to the other rhinos at the Nikita Kahn Rhino Rescue Center. - After 57💥collisions involving bikes🚴since the beginning of the year, the City of Carlsbad has declared a State of Emergency. Both bikes and e-bikes have been involved in this spike in crashes. Changes need to be made to make it safe for car drivers, bike riders, and e-bike riders throughout San Diego. Carlsbad plans to improve infrastructure, encourage safety, enforce laws already on the books, and promote e-bike education. To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link.
