- Omicron variant BA4 and BA5 are spreading faster than any previous strain of COVID-19. Experts suggest that you should take precautions at parties and barbecues this weekend. “I think it’s that everybody just is cautious during their gatherings,” said Dr. Lucy Horton, infectious disease specialist at UC San Diego. Dr. Horton suggested that events should be held outdoors with social distancing in mind to keep safe from COVID-19. To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. (FOX 5 San Diego)
- After the partial collapse of the Del Mar Bluffs in 2021, it was determined that the train tracks need to be moved away from the bluffs. Now with $300 million in funding, SANDAG will be able to make repairs along the LOSSAN rail corridor, one of the busiest intercity railways in the U.S., serving 7.6 million passengers. It also moves $1 billion in goods and services each year. Repairs are slated to begin in 2023. To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. (CBS8)
