San Diego Border Patrol Agents Bust Trucker Hauling Liquid Meth
The drugs totaled 761 pounds, making it the San Diego Sector's largest single meth seizure over the past two years.
SAN DIEGO, CA — San Diego Border Patrol agents halted a hefty load of liquid methamphetamine hidden inside a semi-truck.
Agents from the San Diego Sector pulled over a tractor-trailer around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday traveling northbound on Interstate 215 in Murrieta, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
After a K-9 alerted agents to the possible presence of concealed narcotics, authorities found anomalies in the fuel tanks and the fluid inside, according to the CBP. The driver, truck and the presumed narcotics were transferred to the Newton-Azrak Border Patrol station for further investigation.

The fluid in the compartments tested positive for the characteristics of meth, the CBP said. The drugs totaled 761 pounds, making it the sector's largest single meth seizure over the past two years. The meth has an estimated street value of $684,900.
The truck was seized by the Border Patrol, while the driver and the drugs were turned over to Homeland Security Investigations for further investigation and prosecution, according to CBP. The driver faces federal prosecution for possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
