San Diego Comic-Con 2018: Biggest News, Highlights, Day 4 Preview
Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Jamie Lee Curtis and Samuel L. Jackson were on hand during the first three days of the 2018 Comic-Con International.

SAN DIEGO, CA – The 2018 Comic-Con International is well underway, and the list of panels, exhibits and events continues to dazzle fans, as Day 3 rolls in. If you’ve missed the highlights of the first three days of the convention, from "The Predator" panel to "Wonder Woman 1984" panel, we’ve got you covered.
On Sunday, July 22, Comic-Con wraps up with more panels in Hall H, including “Supernatural” at 10:45 a.m., and "Riverdale” at 11:45 a.m. But first, let's not bid good-bye yet to the first three exciting days of the 49th edition of Comic-Con International.

“The Predator,” “Doctor Who” and the 10th Anniversary of “Breaking Bad” kicked off this year’s edition on Thursday, July 19, while “The Walking Dead,” “Glass” and “Halloween” were some of the most highly-anticipated panels at the convention during its second day, Friday, July 20.

20th century Fox unveiled new footage from its upcoming sequel-reboot “The Predator” to showcase the latest re-imagining of the titular alien hunters. The panel — featuring director Shane Black as well as cast members Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Trevante Rhodes, Thomas Jane, Jake Busey, Keegan-Michael Key and Augusto Aguilera — showed the denizens in Hall H the strongest, smartest and deadliest hunters yet in the “Predator” universe, “The Ultimate Predator.”
Did you know that Jake Busey is the same age in the new movie as his father, Gary Busey, was in the 1990 sequel to the original, “Predator 2”?

“After all these years of trying to build a career and not just be lumped in with him, this comes along,” Busey said. “I’m the same age in this movie that my dad was.”

For the first time in 55 years, the British sci-fi series “Doctor Who” will see its main protagonist portrayed by a woman, Jodie Whittaker, who’ll make her debut as the first-ever female Doctor this fall in the series’ 11th season on BBC America. At the panel, Whittaker was joined by her co-stars, Tosin Cole, and Mandip Gill, as well as showrunner Chris Chibnall and executive producer Matt Strevens.
One young fan made the crowd go wild when she introduced herself.
“My name is Amelia, and I’ve actually been waiting for a girl Doctor for a very long time." Cheers and applause filled the cavernous Hall H.
Whittaker was taken aback. “You’ll make me cry,” the actress said.

The 10-year reunion of “Breaking Bad” also made the first day memorable for the cast members and fans.
Aaron Paul absolutely won the crowd over, as he took the stage cradling his 5-month-old baby, who made her Comic-Con debut wearing a yellow mini hazmat suit and respirator mask— like Paul’s iconic character Jesse Pinkman.
“I miss you guys,” said Paul. “I miss the show, you know?”
But the main question the fans had in mind was about the possibility of bringing “Breaking Bad” back after its finale aired in 2013. Showrunner Vince Gilligan could not make any promises but managed to delight the crowd nevertheless.
“You will not see Walt or Jesse in [“Better Call Saul”] season 4,” Vince mentioned to the crowd. “I would suspect we would be sorely remiss if these characters didn’t appear on this show before it ended.”

For fans of “The Walking Dead,” Day 2 of Comic-Con was somewhat somber. At the show’s panel in Hall H, they were in total disbelief after Andrew Lincoln confirmed that this would be his last season on the show, playing Rick Grimes.
“Now hear me out, please,” Lincoln tries to calm the disappointed crowd down. “I love this show. [And] It means everything to me. I promise not to cry; I’ve done enough crying on the screen.”
On a more upbeat and pleasant note, Universal Pictures returned to Hall H this year with two of the studios’ highly anticipated films, “Glass” and “Halloween.”
Universal Pictures released the trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s “Glass,” the sequel to 2016’s “Split,” which stars James McAvoy as Kevin Wendell Crumb, who uses 24 personalities to abduct women.
At the “Halloween” panel, Jamie Lee Curtis, who stars in the new film, walked off stage — well, for a good and heartfelt reason— to embrace an emotional fan, who mentioned that Curtis’ character Laurie Strode saved his life from a home invasion attack.
On Saturday, Wonder Woman graced Hall H, and this time around, she came all the way from 1984 with a gift to Comic-Con denizens.
Gal Gadot and Chris Pine as well as director Patty Jenkins, made a surprise appearance at the Warner Brothers’ panel to tease a little footage of their upcoming sequel, “Wonder Woman 1984.”
Fans showed their delight with the loudest cheers in Hall H.

But still, how is it possible that Pine’s back after his character Steve Trevor died in the original? Jenkins and Gadot chimed in.
“It’s something I’m super excited for everyone to see the movie to find out,” Jenkins mentioned. “But it’s a very important part of our movie.”
“He’s actually the water girl,” Gadot teasingly added. “He comes to set, asks us if we’re hungry.”
The 2018 Comic-Con International runs from July 19 through July 22.
