Burnt Food Causes Evacuation At San Diego Airport

The airport was evacuated around 1 p.m. Saturday.

SAN DIEGO, CA -- The San Diego International Airport was evacuated Saturday afternoon after burnt food caused the smoke alarm to go off. A spokesperson with the airport said the evacuation happened at Terminal 1 around 1 p.m.

The food was burned in an employee break room, causing the smoke alarm to go off, the spokesperson said.

The issue was resolved about 16 minutes later, the spokesperson said.
