Burnt Food Causes Evacuation At San Diego Airport
The airport was evacuated around 1 p.m. Saturday.
SAN DIEGO, CA -- The San Diego International Airport was evacuated Saturday afternoon after burnt food caused the smoke alarm to go off. A spokesperson with the airport said the evacuation happened at Terminal 1 around 1 p.m.
The food was burned in an employee break room, causing the smoke alarm to go off, the spokesperson said.
The issue was resolved about 16 minutes later, the spokesperson said.

The evacuation prompted passengers to tweet about the incident. Several photos posted on Twitter show crowds of people standing outside.
