Here are three of the top stories today in San Diego:
- Tourism is back in San Diego! After taking a big hit during the pandemic, the industry is surging once again. Why is this important to San Diegans? Well, tourism brings $3.5 billion in business to our area according to the American Hotel and Lodging Association. That means more jobs, greater profits, and more tax money paid into the City. Let’s keep moving ahead, San Diego! (ABC 10 News San Diego KGTV)
- The Otay River Estuary Restoration Project will take four years to complete, but it will be a big help to our environment. Friends of San Diego Wildlife Refuges president, George Dowden said “We applaud Poseidon and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for their continued dedication to preserving our beautiful coastline and promoting environmental sustainability.” The Otay River Estuary Restoration Project will begin at two locations. One site will encompass 34 acres within the Otay River Floodplain. The other location will include 91 acres in Chula Vista. Sachin Chawla, president of Poseidon commented “We remain committed to being stewards of the environment and helping San Diego County have a sustainable and local water supply for decades.” It’s certainly good news for our fish and wildlife here in San Diego. (Times of San Diego)
- San Diego goes for Halloween in a big way. 🎃 There are so many events out there! There are family events such as pumpkin patches, a Halloween trivia night, Haunted Tappers at Tapper’s Mini-Golf, and a PAWloween party. There are other events at places such as: TREATport at the Seaport Village, Little Italy’s Trick-or-Treat on India Street, Dia de Muertos Celebration at Westfield Plaza Bonita, and Corvette Diner’s Annual Halloween Costume Party. Also, there are several ADULTS ONLY venues to visit. Read on for further details. (San Diego Magazine)
