  1. “You know, we made a commitment when we were experiencing higher bills early this year of making sure that our customers aren't surprised,” senior vice-president of customer services and external affairs Scott Crider said. So, they are announcing now that SDGE intends to raise rates in 2024. The rate increase could mean an $18 or more per month increase. Consumers will have their say. Stay tuned!   2. The City of San Diego has created an ordinance to control the number of short-term rentals within the City. Advocates say the new law will result in more housing being available to long-term renters and buyers. Residents look forward to the new quiet and fewer party houses as a result of the ordinance.   3. Good news! The San Diego ‘Nighttime Zoo’ begins June 3. With special entertainment and summer treats during extended summer hours, the ‘Nighttime Zoo’ will provide an opportunity for visitors to see nocturnal animals after dark.
