  • Affordable homes for low-income and middle-income families
  • Market-rate homes
  • A new Sports Arena built and financed by the Oak View Group
  • A 12-acre park that will serve the entire Midway area
  • A permanent soccer stadium for the Loyal

“Midway Village+ will showcase San Diego’s leadership in sustainable design, smart mobility solutions, sports innovation and active lifestyle businesses,” said project executive David Malmuth. “It’s really, as we like to say, tomorrow’s San Diego — a new pedestrianvillage for all of us.”

Last week a team led by Brookfield Properties announced it will bid again to redevelop the Sports Arena and surrounding area in the dilapidated Midway district.

Former Mayor Kevin Faulconer selected Brookfield in August 2020 to redevelop the area, but the city was notified in June that the bidding process had likely violated the 2019 Surplus Land Act.
