Here are three of the top stories in San Diego today:

  1. Have a short-term rental property in the City of San Diego? If so, now is the time to complete your application for a license. Applications will be accepted beginning today. To assist you in your application, the San Diego city treasurer has offered some useful information for applicants: Get a Transient Occupancy Tax Certificate, make sure you're in "Paid Status," and decide which tier you want to choose. There are four tiers to consider based on your property and what you wish to rent out in a short-term capacity. Find out more about the tiers and which one applies to your property. (NBC San Diego)
  2. Several new regulations have been implemented to help San Diegans ride dockless scooters safely. The San Diego Police Department and the California Office of Traffic Safety joined together with nonprofit Circulate San Diego to create an official guide for scooter riders. It outlines seven rules to follow when renting and riding a scooter. The rules are being distributed in the form of a small, trifold brochure. (Times of San Diego)
  3. It’s a wonderful time to be a kid in San Diego! Through the month of October, kids ages 12 and under can enter FREE at 100 participating attractions, restaurants, and hotels. Yes, free gifts, meals, and admission to theme parks and museums are included. The “Kids Free in October” program is hosted by the San Diego Museum Council in conjunction with Mission Federal Credit Union. Read on for a list of free opportunities. (NBC San Diego)
