SoCal Pub Named Best Beer Bar In Country: Ranking

SAN DIEGO, CA — A Southern California pub was named the best beer bar in the country.

Just ahead of St. Patrick's Day, O'Brien's Pub in San Diego ranked as the best beer bar in the U.S. by USA Today. It's the second time in two years that O'Brien's has topped the publication's top 10 beer bar list.

The bars are nominated by an expert panel and then voted on by readers.

"O'Brien's Pub is one of San Diego's oldest craft beer bars, as it was established in 1994, and one of the most respected, with 28 craft beers on tap," the publication wrote. "This pub specializes in Belgian beers, IPAs, and global rarities to ensure each beer enthusiast gets a unique pour, whether it's their first O'Brien's pint or their 100th."

To celebrate the ranking, the O'Brien's is hosting a party from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the bar at 4646 Convoy St. in San Diego. The party will feature food specials, $5 draft beers, and "lots of love and high fives from the staff."

"We've done it again!" O'Brien's posted on Facebook. "A huge thank you to everyone who voted, we couldn't have achieved this without your support."
