Stabbing Suspect Arrested In San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA — A 31-year-old man suspected of stabbing a 43-year-old man in the Grantville neighborhood Thursday was arrested.

San Diego Police Department officers were called to the 4900 block of Waring Road around 5:39 p.m. Thursday where they learned the suspect approached victim, claiming he was being followed, according to Officer Jose Perales.

The suspect then drew a knife and stabbed the victim once in the chest and fled, Perales said.

The suspect was taken into custody shortly after and a knife was recovered. The victim was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition, Perales said.

Neither the suspect's nor victim's name was released.

Detectives from the department's Eastern Division will be handling the investigation and anyone with information related to it was asked to call 858-495-7900 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
