Here are three of the top stories today in San Diego:

  1. They are the earth’s pollinators. They are key to our food supply. Now, a pesticide found in San Diego’s urban waterways is endangering our🐝bees. Environment California, a group whose purpose is to create a greener, healthier place, is appealing to Gov. Gavin Newsom to sign AB 2146. "Just one square foot of lawn treated with a neonic at approved rates contains enough chemicals to kill over one million bees,” said Ben Grundy, a conservation associate with Environment California. According to Laura Deehan, state director for Environment California, the state is home to 1,600 unique species of bees. "Unless we reverse this trend and unless we stop the widespread use of neonicotinoids and these bee killing products, the balance of life on earth is honestly threatened.” To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. 2. Have you been a victim😟of identity theft? If so, you know how frustrating it can be to restore your credit. Now, the District Attorney’s office is partnering with the Identity Theft Resource Center to assist victims of identity theft. Victims can access a live chat box on the DA’s website, which will help those in need of assistance. Need help? Go to: https://www.sdcda.org/preventi... Press the 'Chat with the ITRC' button. 3. Two extremely rare megamouth🦈sharks were sighted and videotaped📱 30 miles off the coast of San Diego. Anglers Val Costescu, David Stabile, and Andrew Chang spotted sharks swimming under their boat. "We didn't really process the rarity of the situation until later on," said Costescu. They took their video to Scripps Institution of Oceanography. "I think with each person we were put in contact with, the gravity of everything started to sink in with us that we truly had an out of this world unique experience," Stabile said. Find out why.
