Storm To Bring Rain, Strong Winds To San Diego Area
Most of the rain is expected in the afternoon, with a chance of showers in the night, according to the National Weather Service.
SAN DIEGO, CA — A major storm that is hitting California is expected to bring rain and gusty winds to San Diego County.
Some parts of the region could get heavy rain, but strong winds are expected to make a bigger impact in the region, according to the National Weather Service.
"A low pressure system from the north will move inland through central California today and into Nevada tonight," forecasters said. "There will be strong gusty south to southwest winds ahead of the cold front this morning, continuing into early afternoon for the San Diego County coast and valleys."

The low-pressure system will move into Southern California throughout Tuesday, with most of the rain expected in the afternoon and a chance of showers in the night, according to the NWS.
"For San Diego County, amounts near the coast will range from around one-inch north to one-quarter-inch south with the mountains ranging from one to two inches north to less than one-half inch south with one-tenth inch or less in the deserts," forecasters said.

A wind advisory will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday for the county's coastal and valley areas, including Oceanside, Poway, Carlsbad, San Marcos, Vista, San Diego, Chula Vista, Encinitas, National City, Escondido, La Mesa, Santee and El Cajon.
South winds from 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph are expected in the area, according to the NWS.
Officials said to be cautious of unsecured objects, tree limbs that could be blown down and possible power outages.
Skies are expected to clear up quickly, with warmer weather forecast Wednesday through Saturday, according to the NWS.
"Warmer and dry for Wednesday through Saturday with high temperatures warming from as much as 20 to 25 degrees below average today for higher elevations to within a few degrees of average on Saturday," forecasters said. "Another low pressure system from the north will bring cooling for next Sunday and Monday."
